A fantastic day out wilth Wiltshire Wildlife

You will have the opportunity to spend the day out and about in Barton Farm Country park looking at the conservation and nature of the park as well as building a campfire and cooking your lunch on the open fire.

Activities during the day could include:

  • A scavenger hunt
  • Bush craft
  • Creating bug houses
  • Wild food
  • Environmental arts and games
  • Shelter building
  • Egg rolling and much more

This project gives priority to those young people from the Bradford on Avon Area.

You are invited to a fantastic art project with leading community Arts Company No Added Sugar.

  • No experience necessary!
  • It will cost you nothing!
  • It will take place in school holidays!
  • It will be rewarding & great fun!


Project Dates:
Week 1 -26th - 30th July– Young people take part in 3 days of activity
Week 2 -23rd – 27th August - Young people take part in 3 days of activity
Week 3 -25th – 29th October- Young people take part in 5 days of activity

  • The project will take place over 3 weeks
  • You will work in two groups and the groups will join together to share what you have learnt
  • The project will give you an opportunity to explore your own heritage and culture
  • During the project you will visit Trowbridge Museum and the Swindon and Wiltshire History Centre in Chippenham to gather ideas and inspiration for the art work they will produce with professional artists No Added Sugar. (Transport to Chippenham will be provided)
  • Other Art based days will be held at Trowbridge Youth Development Centre.
  • At the end of the project there will be an art exhibition to celebrate the work that you have produced.

An opportunity to take part in multi sports and extreme sports programme over 5 weeks.

  • Thursday 26th & Friday 27th August

Thursdays - multi sports from 11am - 2pm
Fridays - Extreme sports - Times to be confirmed

Activities could include:

  • Iceskating & Beach sports
  • Mountian Biking
  • Water Sports

You will need to wear suitable clothes to do sports in, bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink.

A Native American Experience

An overnight Project
Meeting at 10am on Tuesday until 11am on Wednesday morning.

You will have the opportunity to be part of a Native American Tribe.
Activities will include:
Drumming
Create Your Own Tribe
Power Animal Journey
and Stories around the campfire.

You will also get to camp overnight sleeping in Traditional Sioux Style Tipis!

Wacky Willow(Willow Sculpture/relief Project)

Willow is a fantastic material to work with. It can be used in loads of different ways to create really interesting sculptures and reliefs. It can also be used with a combination of other materials such as fabrics, papers and wire producing really interesting effects.

Through out this project young people will have the opportunity to create their own willow sculpture and they will be taught a variety of skills and techniques to help them such as joining, lashing and weaving. They will also gain an understanding of how willow is grown and prepared.

As always Wild Goose workshops are designed to anable young people to learn and develop new skills whilst having as much fun as possible in a safe and friendly environment. As well as the main activity young people will take part in a number of games and activities. Some of which will help them in their main activity others are just for fun.
