What's all this about or frequently asked questions

What is a Mainstream project?

Mainstream projects are for all young people aged between 10-16 years. You need to book your place on the project according to the projects details on this website. Splash subsidizes (gives money to) these projects to make them more affordable for you, sometimes they are even FREE!

What is a TAP project?

TAP projects are what we call our ‘targeted projects’. They are often funded (paid for) by groups or agencies who are interested in supporting a particular area of the county. For example a Parish or Town Council might only want to give a donation to something that will benefit the residents of their Parish or Town and therefore the project is targeted at young people living there, or a project might be funded by someone who is particulary interested in a specific topic e.g. recycling, health or sport etc. To qualify to attend a Splash TAP project you need to be referred (recommended) and a parent or guardian (or other adult) will need to sign a booking form to give you permission to attend. If you are unsure about anything to do with TAP, then give the office a call on: 01380 734106

What does SPLASH stand for?

Schools & Police Liaison Activities for School Holidays. Splash is a registered charity.

I used to get given Splash Discount Cards through my school but this doesn’t happen anymore?

Splash no longer distributes these cards through schools. But if you were eligible in the past for a Discount Card then you may still be eligible and can still get one if you attend a Splash TAP project in the summer holidays.
